About Us & Mission of Organization

Over two million Asian Americans in the United States currently live in poverty. In the United States as a whole, people of color who are impoverished equate to over 60 million! Based on the Chinese idiom "否极泰来", roughly meaning the light after a dark tunnel, Tai Lai Financial Education hopes to be the light in people's darkness and give back to the people in need.

Financial literacy is the foundation of generational wealth and the starting towards building a financial footing in any country, especially one that someone just immigrated to. Now imagine you just immigrated to the United States, with nothing more than what you can carry in a backpack and a very limited understanding of English, where do you even start? Where do you store your money? Where do you live? How do you get a job? These were all questions that my family went through and many many other families in the Asian American diaspora went through as well, and still do till this day. 

Business Model

With the mission of Tai Lai Financial Education being the core of the business, we plan on hiring people of a financial background, possibly near the end of their business tenure, who are passionate in giving back to their cultural community. Hosting open workshops priced at the lowest possible pricing and providing financial support, if needed, we plan on hosting financial literacy workshops that are accessible to all. 

Providing services to people in need, we do not wish for our revenue to come from them but rather from external donors, grants, and charitable organization partnerships looking to make a difference in the life of others.

Scalability and making tangible change. Knowledge is wealth and everyone has the right to knowledge.

While the roots of Tai Lai Financial Education begins in solving issues observed in the Asian American community, this issue is prevalent in other communities of color and is found in other countries besides the United States which sees a large influx of immigration. This allows for our target audience to be easily scalable and we hope to grow large enough to solve the issue with the lack of financial literacy to more than just the Asian American community but everyone in the world, as much as possible.

In addition to target market scalability, the range of education and services provided to them can be easily expanded. Making sure all age groups and their specific needs are addressed, we can also provide more catered financial advisory services such as financial aid workshops and basic budgeting tips to children of first-generation immigrants and retirement workshops to senior communities.

Why Should You Invest?

Tai Lai cannot continue its activities without the partnership and donations of organizations like AMDP. While Tai Lai cannot produce a tangible outcome that may be beneficial to their investors, we believe in giving back to our contributors in the form of financial advisory services. Looking for a $250,000 investment for 5% of the company, we believe Tai Lai Financial Education is a socially profitable investment--where AMDP will not only get equity in a growing and vastly scalable non-profit but will have access to a large network of highly-experienced financial advisors.
