I Just Cleaned My Room (Random Post 1)
I Just Finished Cleaning My Room This Morning
How cleaning is my therapy

A lot of people hate cleaning and being honest on some occasions I do as well. But to be honest, I also really enjoy cleaning a lot of the time as well. Am I bit of a clean freak? Maybe. Does cleaning make me happier? Very much so. Am I crazy and should be put in a psychiatric ward? I'll leave that up to you to decide.
For me, I view cleaning as sort of an easy-to-access therapy. Some times I get into a rut and the best thing for me to get out of it (after a bit of crying and ice cream) is to start cleaning. I really believe in the common belief that "the cleanliness of your room is a correlation to your mental well-being." Once I realize that things are a little bit too messy, both physically and mentally, I put on an upbeat playlist on Spotify and get to work.

My cleaning process for my room
- Put any dirty clothes that are laying around into the laundry hamper
- Hang up any tote bags or cross-body bags lying on the ground, back on the door hook
- Make my bed to look nice again
- Place all my clothes that need to be hanged on my recently made bed
- Put all those clothes back on hangers and make sure to color-organize my closet
- Clean and reorganize desk
- Throw away any trash in the bin and replace bag
Other things that I might add to the cleaning process if I need to clean deeper include:
- Clean windows (inside and out)
- Clean carpet
- Wipe down baseboards
- Wipe down any shiny/reflective areas with Clorox wipe and microfiber cloth
I think the best part about cleaning is the tangible result that you always get from it. Even if you might not like the process while cleaning, usually time flies back really fast when you do it. After spending so much time, you get a positive result of well...a clean room! That just makes me feel proud of myself and after giving myself a well-deserved break after the cleaning spree (which I won't feel guilty of), I can continue to do work but now in an environment that is clean and organized. Just like how you shouldn't "sweep things under the rug", I think that applies to the same with emotions. Make sure to feel your emotions, but don't let it consume you, and when you are in a better place, start with the things in front of you and little steps to get yourself back on your feet (like cleaning your room)!
